About

Emma Wallace is graduating from Carleton College with a BA in Studio Art. She looks a lot like her dog.

My work is representational and much of it is centered around intense mark making. Most of the work revolves around my interest in direct logic and an interest in natural forms. I find texture really interesting and I hope that in my attention to capturing texture, some of the mark-making build-up lends an element of abstraction to my work. Birds are a main focus of mine because I find birds really strange. They are ancestors of dinosaurs and most of them fly: something that astounds me as someone  scared of heights.
